Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musical family on the 9th of August, 1963. She was born in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. as well as a cousin of the singing sensation Dionne Warwick. In her early years, she sang in her New Hope Baptist Church choir in Newark. At the age of she turned fifteen, Houston was singing professionally backing vocals with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 song Im Every Woman. She continued to offer backing vocals for Lou Rawls Jermaine Jackson and her mother, and also was briefly models for the cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. Beginning in 1981, she started to work as a vocalist with the New York-based funk group Material. Her excellent vocals of this group that attracted notice of major record companies including Arista. In 1985, Whitney Houston's first album was one of the most successful debut albums of all time. Songs like The Most Beautiful Love of All, How Will I Know If You Give Good Love, and the song Saving All My Love were all released off the album. These songs enabled Houston to earn the seven US top tens which were higher than even the top tens of The Beatles. It was the first US year of release, the album has sold in excess of 3 million units. It went on to be listened to by more than more than 25 million worldwide and earned her the first Grammy. Whitney was her first album. Whitney which came out in 1987 and featuring the popular singles What Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, continued her earlier success. It was The Bodyguard (1996) that made her the top selling album in music. While the movie and the actress' performance were not much praised, her soundtrack album with her version of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was her top single and album for several months. It sold more than 44 million copies across the globe. In the same year, she was married to Bobby Brown who was a previous New Edition singer. She had their sole daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. They were married on March 23, 1993. It was about this time that her widely documented substance abuse began. By 1996, she was a regular user.

Dana Bash, also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz, is an American journalist and anchorwoman who is a correspondent for politics for CNN. She has created shows for the network such as Evans & Novak' Late Editionas well as Inside Politics'. The awards and honors she has received include being named to the "The Women in Washington Power List" by Elle magazine. Bash is renowned for her incredible anchoring/reporting abilities and she's highly regarded by younger journalists. She is also a loving mom to her son even though she graduated of George Washington University. She was married twice, but is currently dating. Bash is an independent, confident woman.
